D drive(Data) says full, yet hardly any files on it?

Why does my 250GB partition say 249GB used when there's nearly nothing on it?

There's no way something's taking up 249 gigs. . Something's WRONG

Hardly used Laptop: ASUS K53E-BBR17

(bought at Pawn-shop)

    The computer may have been set to automatic backup onto the D drive. The simplest suggestion would be to restore to factory defaults

    Restart the laptop and press F9 until a screen appears

    Follow instructions to wipe the drive and re-install Windows
