Free anti-mslware?

It's been long suspected that the anti-virus writers produce much of the malware to keep themselves in a job. I wonder how true that is?

Update:

free anti-malware

You can bet that people like that are under surveillance by governments to crack down on it. Cybercrime costs countries billions of dollars each year and it's not something they laugh with.

That being said, I'm convinced there are some rogue elements in those companies that live a 2nd life outside their company on the dark web and use inside information to avoid detection by their software. It will be major news if a true story like that came out and it would really be hell for the company that person works for... Over all these years, I really haven't heard much of these stories so these people are either really smart in avoiding detection, or it's simply not true.

Actually it is often the other way around. Some virus writers get caught and are given lesser sentences if they agree to help fight virus producers. same goes for hackers. Many of the 'experts" used by the government were originally hackers who got caught.

    Nope.

There really is much danger out there. The number one source of malware is the school. Lots of programming students make them just to impress friends and classmates.
