During World War II, why were Allied uniforms and equipment so ugly compared to German uniforms and equipment?

Who says they were? In some cases they were pretty much indistinguishable, and otherwise that's a combination of personal bias and total irrelevance. I want a tank or rifle to work, not look good.

My favorite aircraft from a visual perspective is the MiG-29. That doesn't mean I want the USAF to buy them.

This is correct, their clothing admittedly was of high quality especially the winter coats. You can still buy that sort of quality today but it cost serious big money. The Americans make it and you can even order a new SS uniform (in black) to size in the USA - for a high price of course...............

yea the SS uniforms looked amazing i'll give them that. it was just there color and style though. i mean the nazis in general were ugly men so they had to make up for there ugliness by dressing good.

"ugly" is an opinion. You may see it as ugly, while others do not. Furthermore, looks does not correlate to efficiency.

    You got me.

As despotic as they were, they had style.
