Is Tony Stark an electrical engineer, applied physicist, or both?

We all know the Iron man suit practically defies the laws of physics. So does Stark use genius engineering skills to break (or at least greatly manipulate) the laws of physics, or does he use "higher" physics to break (or greatly manipulate) the laws of physics?

Tony Stark is fictional. As an engineer who watched all Iron Man and Avengers movies, it seems like Tony Stark has the knowledge of all engineers, and even biology.

He displays knowledge of mechanical, industrial/systems, electronics, electrical, computer, software, biomedical, and structural engineering.
