Uhhh... we need to be careful here what you mean by "DTS".
Both Dolby Digital and DTS can go out HDMI, optical & coaxial digital.
But are you talking about the Uncompressed DTS HD audio? This can only flow out with HDMI.
The un-compressed tracks need to go from a BluRay player that supports this via HDMI to an AV Receiver that also supports the un-compressed tracks. (Then another HDMI cable carries just the video to the TV but no audio)
The way you are hooked up with optical - you CAN get the optional compressed DTS track, but NOT the un-compressed DTS-HD Master tracks.
Hope this helps.

"My question is am i getting DTS sound to my receiver with this set up."
Only if you have a DTS source. Not all Blu-Ray discs are encoded with a DTS matrix, so in most cases, you won't get DTS audio, simply because it isn't there.

A lot depends on how sophisticated the audio circuitry is inside your TV... Older model and bargain model HDTV's sometimes only send a stereo signal out optical upper end more expensive models and newer models are more likely to send the digital signal over optical in surround...If your AV receiver is showing a DTS signal on the front panel then its being received if not then probably not...also the optical cable is not going to send a DTS Master signal which most Blu ray disks have it will only sent DTS digital at best...The best connection would be HDMI out from the Blu ray player and then another HDMI out from the AV receiver to HDMI in on the TV ..This will assure the best audio and video signal from your blu ray player...also it might depend on settings inside the Blu ray player the TV and the AV receiver so check those too...The AV receiver must also have a DTS decoder built in....
