Does anyone know anything about being an Optician apprentice?
I live in ohio and I m currently going to the local community college to finish up my associates of arts degree. I ve decided that I don t want to continue school for a degree because school is wayyyyy too expensive for me. I ve been looking into apprenticeships and found an optician apprenticeship which I think I ll enjoy a lot. I know that I would be a paid intern, but does anyone know if interns get benefits? Any help is greatly appreciated.
I dont mean intern. Sorry, I goofed. On the job listing it says it's an apprenticeship and in order to become an optician you need two years of apprenticeship or schooling in Ohio.

Interns normally aren't regular employees and wouldn't normally get benefits. Moreover, an internship is usually temporary. It might not be long enough for someone to qualify as an optician. Make sure that this is a real apprenticeship, not just a temporary internship.
You do know that colleges and universities offer financial aid?
