Sure- The one that is quite popular is called OPEN OFFICE SUITE. It is totally free at:

Libre Office is a spin off from Open Office. And I mean that literally. Many of the contributors of the original Open Office left and formed Libre Office. Both are written on the same code and both have the same programs. They have some small differences, but you have to look close to see it. Functionality wise, they are identical.

The biggest difference is in how often the programs get updated. In that respect, Libre Office has been winning the battle.

You have to make the choice yourself, of course, but I would go with Libre primarily because they keep their program updated more frequently.

Libre Office or Open Office: both are generic versions of Microsoft Office. And Office means: Excel, Word, Powerpoint, Access.

If all you want is a free "Word" type program, then use AbiWord http://www.abiword.org/

Also you can use LibreOffice, that it's completely free, and does not use copyrigthed stuff such as OpenOffice.
