The Wire: Is Marlo Stanfield a Sociopath or a Psychopath?
I just finished watching the entire show, and the character, Marlo Stanfield is clearly on a different level of evil compared to all the gangsters of Baltimore. Criminals such as Prop Joe, Avon Barksdale, Omar Little, Stringer Bell, they all had some sense of community, friendship, honor, a code.
Marlo Stanfield appears to have none of that, as well as no humor, remorse, respect, or fear for anything or anyone. His only moment of anger is the thought of having his name ruined by word on the street of him being a coward when word didn't get back to him about Omar calling him out.

There's no diagnostic difference between the two words. Hell neither of those are diagnostic terms--it's called anti-social personalty disorder in the DSMV. I know what you mean about Marlo though. He's completely blank, like a robot. None of the other characters are sociopath/psychopaths, they're just gangsters. Marlo is.

I don't think he's either, Antisocial Personality Disorder(the actual disorder behind Sociopaths/Psychopaths) results in an extremely non-committal approach, usually these people have a great sense of humor, and a lightheartedness, even about really harsh things.
A Sociopath/Psychopath for example will get caught, smile, and congratulate the police-officer arresting him, then turn around, and try to kill him.
Marlo is much more like a Toxic Narcissist, which is a disorder where you do commit to having no humor, no remorse, respect, or fear.
