Try an OTC ear solution from a pet store. They dry out the canal and any waxy. That should take care of the smell & wax.

Puppies make a lot of wax and so you need to keep her ears cleaned at least weekly. Use a proper cleaner, made for the job. You might have your vet check what's going on, in case it's mites!
With our Bassets, we did/do ears and nails every Friday evening. Regularly and especially ears - puppies.

So obviously you are looking for help in this website becuase you dont want to take him to the vet. If you are looking for a home remedy, get hydrogen peroxide and warm water, soak with a cotton ball, and clean ears. After they are dry, add some drops of essential tee tree oil twice a day for about 10 days. Ofcourse i recommend to take him to a vet but it is up to you for your dogs health what you do

Take it to a vet comes to mind.
Which is what any responsible owner is obligated to do whenever they get a new pet, within 48 hours of getting it along with a fresh fecal specimen.

Take her to the vet for a diagnosis and the correct treatment. Dont waste your money on OTC products at this stage.
For regular cleaning there are some excellent OTC products now, most people would probably recommend Zymox Otic;

Clean them out or take her to the vet and let them do it. You have to clean those breeds ears monthly. Bassets too. She's a cute dotsie!
