Can you get a dishonorable discharge in the Army for this?
My friend was in a emotionally abusive relationship with his ex. Long story short, she wanted to get back together, so she sent him a message, then he cursed her out/rejected her.
She's more unstable than he thought and might commit suicide.
If she does, will the military kick him out of the Army?

No, it's not a crime to curse at someone. If she was actually abused contact the appropriate authorities and the army will hand him to the the dogs but "emotional abuse" will not cut it.
If your friend is going to attempt suicide you need to call 911 and get her the help she needs

Look up dishonorable discharge.
When you do, you will see that the only way you can get a DD is for it to be part of the sentence handed out by a general court martial after being convicted of the most serious felonies.
Getting kicked out for mental issues is an admin discharge, would most likely be an honorable discharge, and at worst would be an OTH discharge.

If when the abuse was happening she reported it and there was an investigation done and found guilty then he could have been disciplined in multiple ways but not a dishonorable. Her now threatening to commit suicide is not a reason neither. Now if it was her being abusive the military could have kicked out of housing and banned her from the base/post.

Many of us that come in here would all be guests of the 705th MP Battalion. I once grabbed a guy to pull him and the cigar in his mouth away from the 650 gallon pod of Mogas the moron was sitting on. It was @ the Depot outside of Stockton CA, it was 105. He was also out of uniform, had the top button closed on his Fatigues and refused to unbutton it for me. He either did not like me or Top. I took him to Top and never saw him again. He was a E2 Pvt so will guess he had been to Basic. This took place in a Reserve unit after active duty.

Her mental health issues are not his concern, especially if they're not together anymore. Out of concern he should report her situation if she's serious about harming herself. But he has no obligation to get back with her (and likely shouldn't) and his job doesn't require that he take care of her in any way, so if she does something rash and stupid, that's not on him.

Cursing and rejecting a person is not illegal and will not get him kicked out of the military. If she kills herself that's on HER, not him. He has nothing to do with it and is not responsible if she's a mental case who wants to die. If it's not about him, she'll find some other reason to kill herself if she really wants to die
