Does he actually care?

My friend is trying to talk to this guy and she went out last night. Below is their conversation over snap chat:

He snapped her

My friend: sorry im out!

Him: its okay

Her: ill text you later when im home if youre still awake

Him: you okay?

Her: yeah!

Him: 👍

Her: thanks for asking 😊

Him: no problem

In the morning he snapped her and out of now where he asked her if she got any last night. She said no i did not. He said idc if you did im just wondering.

If he didnt care why would he bother asking? I think he actually does care. Who out of no where asks that? Obviously he wanted to know if he asked
