I'm upset that my boyfriend doesn't have a job.?

My boyfriend and I have been dating for a year and a half.

He's a college student on scholarship for track & field.

He's been able to hold down summer jobs, but when it comes to the school year he says he can't manage a part-time job.

I'm a college student as well and I work two jobs.

I'm just kind of upset that when we go out on dates, I either pay for majority of our meals or I just pay for my own meal. For our anniversary he showed up to dinner with $15 dollars when out meal was $60.

It's just frustrating that I can't get that experience of a boyfriend taking me out on dates or to the movies. Of course, I try to understand. But I'm having a hard time accepting it. He keeps promising that he'll apply for a job but he half-asses me every time I bring it up.

What do you suggest I do in my situation?
