Plz help idk how to do this?
a line passes through the points (0,5) and (2,7) what is the equation of the line

y = mx + b
M is the slope. Slope can be calculated using y2 - y1 / x2 - x1. So (7-5)/(2-0) = 2/2 = 1. The slope m is 1.
b is the y-intercept, or the y when x is 0. The point 0,5 reveals that when x = 0, y = 5. The y intercept is 5.
So the equation for the line is:
y = (1)x + 5 or just y = x + 5

As you (should) know, the slope of a line is defined by rise over run: the change in y over the change in x. And points on a graph are written as (x,y).
All you have to do is find the difference between the points, like so.
(0,5) (2,7)
2-0 = 2 = change in x
7-5=2 = change in y
2/2 = change in y/ change in x =1
Remember y = mx + b. We solved for the slope, m. X is constant. B is the intercept-- the value of y when x is 0-- but we already have that; when x is 0, y is 2.
y = 1x + 2
y = x + 2

(0,5) and (2,7)
M= y2-y1 / x2 - x1
M = 7 - 5/ 2- 0
M = 2 / 2 = 1
Therefore the gradient is 1 so the equation will be
Y = mx+c
So
Y= 1x + 5 or Y = X + 5

You find the gradient using m = rise/run = (y2-y1)/(x2-x1)
then use one of the point and use this equation y-y1=m(x-x1)
