Whats a good free online high school?
Preferably one you've had experience with. I hate my public school. I don't make friends there, we wake up at 5:30, and it's just all around depressing. Also, do your parents have to be at home for you to be online schooled? I heard k12 doesn't allow you to get ahea and is too strict, so I don't want that one. Please let me know thanks!

Free online schools are a part of the public school system and must abide by public school policies. Such policies make it hard to work ahead regardless of whether or not the school uses the K12 curriculum. No one can tell you about any (if any, not all states allow online public charter schools) free online schools available to you because you did not disclose what state you live in.

K12 ( and all other virtual public schools) are for-profit public schools. As such, they must comply with all the laws that govern public schools in your state. You state legislature has set the number of instructional hours; you can expect to receive at least 6 hours of lessons a day.

More if you are slow. Public schools do not, as a general rule, let you work ahead. The teachers couldn't possibly have all their students working on something different. They are overloaded as it is:

Yes, parents are contractually bound to act as your 'learning coach'. They are required to be there to supervise. Studies have shown that without a dedicated parent you have almost zero chance of getting an education. Recommended reading: http://nepc.colorado.edu/files/virtual-2014-all-fi...

The free online schools are still public schools. They all still have the same restrictions based upon your state and area's public education laws about how much you can study and grading requirements as regular schools. They try to keep all students studying the same things at the same time to make it easier for their teachers. You study similar things as regular schools except it's done online.

the FIRST thing you need to find out is IF that high school is ACCEPTED BY THE STATE YOU LIVE IN.
If the school is not ACCREDITED by the staet you live in, you CAN NOT take classes there.
