Meeting this girl for the first time on her birthday, what to get her?

Okay, so I met this girl online and we have been talking for a little bit now. She is ready to meet in person, it is going to be on her birthday and very casual. Meaning, her friends are going to be there and I am bringing one of my friends. We are not meeting alone yet just to be cautious on both sides.

Anyway, I have never gotten a girl who I like and who likes me back a gift. Never had a girlfriend before at all. The only thing I can think of is a card. I just want to get something simple but thoughtful.
