Why is the democratic party struggling so much? Obama's approval rating is terrible and the top contenders have terrible baggage.?

Obama's approval rating is not terrible. And, the top Democratic contenders have no worse baggage than the Republican contenders. In fact, the Democratic nominee will win. And, Obama will be remembered as a very consequential president.

I think you've got it all wrong.

Obama's rating is much better than that of the Republican led House and Senate.

Both of the top Democratic Party contenders are polling as beating the top Republican contenders.

So, it looks a lot more like the Republican Party is struggling far more than the Democratic Party might be.

Obama's at 52% approval, and considering that about a third of Americans are so batsh*t crazy that they think that he's a secret Muslim atheist terrorist from Kenya, that means that Obama has the approval of about 80% of SANE Americans.

That's pretty good.
