Knees making really weird noise?

Every time I crouch down, my knees make this noise as if I stepped on 20 roaches at once and it makes the same noise when I stand back up. It's in my right knee only. My left knee is ok. Also, my right knee feels like it has a lot of tissue and tendons and stuff, the part right behind your knee where your hamstring is. It feels like there's more there than what needs to be. and my left knee feels hollow and light and overall normal. It stretches just find, meanwhile, my right leg is quite difficult to get loose despite me using it more often than the left. Any help?
