Hideo Kojima elaborated on the decision to replace Hayter, stating that he wanted to take the Metal Gear Solid series in a new direction; "What we’re trying to accomplish here is [to] recreate the Metal Gear series. It’s a new type of Metal Gear game and we want to have this reflected in the voice actor as well.” but the japanese voice actor stayed the same which countered what he was saying so im guessing it was move in his battle with the company trying to bring fans into the fight and seeing as he is no longer with the company that makes MGS and any future games will not have Kojima on board im guessing it didn't work

Konami is a hayter hater.
One possible reason is that konami wanted to transition him away from being the voice of snake when konami takes over the metal gear franchise from kojima.
The split seems acrimonious so maybe konami doesn't want anything to do with the old regime.
