Do strings have mass and therefore gravity and is there a limit to gravitational influence or does it just become infinity weaker?

    In string theory, everything that we call point particles now, are replaced by 1-dimensional strings instead. So any point particles that we know of that are massless now, will still be massless as string particles. String theory hypothesizes that the affinity to have mass comes from certain vibrational modes of the strings.
