Would you eat wrapped American cheese singles that are three weeks before the expiration date?

They've been in the fridge for a few months, but they look fine. The expiration date is 2/20/.

Thank you

American cheese lasts for a very very long time. Also it's 3 wks before the exp date not after. Also that's probably a 'best if sold by' date not an expiration date. The cheese is fine until it's moldy. I would eat it three months after the date as long as it wasn't moldy.

Three weeks before the expiration date, yes assuming that there wasn't a better type of cheese available

no but I don't like American cheeselike product. If I did I would because I agree with Amy that that is likely a Sell By Date rather than an expiration date

It's when things are AFTER the expiration date that you start to question if they are okay or not, not before the date.

....Before the expiration date? Well, yes. That means they're definitely not expired.

unless the cheese is moldy it is fine to eat. look again. I bet the actual word "expired" doesn't even appear on the label...probably says best if used by which basically means nothing.

Why wouldn't it be. The date is 3 weeks away, of course it's ok.

I keep that sh*t in my glove compartment because Im too cheap to spend $.75 for a piece of cheese at the local burger joint.
