Of course not.
It is not all that widespread in Canada either. Maple trees grow in Ontario,and Quebec, and perhaps a bit in New Brunswick, but, in the West, maple trees just don't grow. I never had maple syrup until I moved to Ontario.
I eat a fair bit of it now! It is really good, but, pretty expensive.

Oh no, what's "real" Maple Syrup without pancakes? We also have Canadian Bacon, eggs, toast, sausages, hash browns. Oh yes, we do have that healthy stuff, like freshly squeezed juice, and real fruit.
