hi. I m going camping and m looking for security options like motion detection units or cameras that can link to my smartphone
if your going camping in eastern europe and through russia im thinking it might be nice to just have that piece of mind. im not gna be digging punjee pits like rambo. just would have been cool to set something cool up with my wifi hotspot and smart phones. thought maybe one could message the other when something set off the motion sensor.. if the question doesnt interest you dont answer.. dont worry about my paranoia.. just stay the hell outa my woods!!!!!!!

Paul, just tie some old cans together with a trip wire between two trees and when something
trips the wire the cans will rattle. The cost is almost zero and works every time.

Oh dear does the nasty wasty boogie man frighten you?
If your that childish stay at home and hide under the quilt.
Oh and by the way trip wires tin cans plus stones do not work once let alone every time.
Only in TV fiction programmes.
Unless you are in a place where there are no animals or even insects.
This kind of childish alarm would be triggered every five minutes.
Even the wind manages to rattle the tins.
What would work but you would be incredibly stupid to try it.
And assuming mummy would allow her little soldier to play with whoosh bang oh nastiest.
Is a hand grenade trip wire this has been proven many many times to be effective.

Where are you camping, Saudi Arabia?
You have a security system built in. It's called waking up when you hear a noise. It's worked pretty well for several millennia of sleeping in the wilderness.

There is nothing that your smart phone can do for you security wise. You need a satellite hook up to get data access if no cell coverage where you are. Trail camera's can be a fun item to find out what went bump in the night.

Why do you need "security options"?? I've camped all over the US for over 50 years and never needed security devices. If you are that paranoid, perhaps you ought to stay home.

Security options while camping? Seriously? Stop being paranoid...there's an option.

I doubt that any alarm system is worthwhile and will likely be as unwelcome in any campground as a car alarm.
