This parable is about Jesus and His Kingship over the Jews.

No, there's really not a significant correlation between the works of Homer and the Gospels. Your example is based on a very broad and superficial similarity between the two stories.

Early Christian thought was still influenced by pre-Christian beliefs. The bible even twice mentions the Greek god Zeus: First in Acts 14:8–13, second in Acts 28:11.

No you will find that Mentor watched over Telemachus. On consideration there was no real similarity. Virgil does however speak of Lucifer, by which he means the Morning Star. (bearer of light)
