The host cell is the Blood Cell. The Zika virus attaches to the blood cell and invades the cell, altering the genetic code of the cell.
Zika can be spread by two different species of mosquitos who spread the disease by biting an infected person and then transmitting the virus to an uninfected person when they are also bitten by the mosquito.
The Zika virus can also be transmitted by blood transfer and during sexual contact.
