NBA: How about this trade?

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=hfn7al...

Blake Griffin and Wes Johnson to Oklahoma

Carmelo Anthony to the Clippers

Kevin Durant to New York

Griffin goes back to his roots. Anthony joins a cast of win now players.

Durant goes to be the hero of NY. He's still relatively young and the core Phil Jackson is building is coming in strong.

Thoughts?

The only problem (well, not the only problem, but the only problem you need) is that none of those teams would be willing to trade any of those stars. OKC firmly believes that Durant will resign with them, the Clippers would be ridiculously overreacting to trade Griffin at this point, and Melo is having a great season considering he's getting older.

Also, you say the "core" Phil is building is coming in nicely. What core? He made one good draft pick with a top four pick, that's not anything to get too excited about. He made decent signings, but Affalo and Lopez aren't core players that will still be key pieces in 5 or more years when Porzingis is ready to lead a team in the playoffs. New York is still a ways away from being even above average

Not gonna happen. OKC is not going to trade away Durant unless they are convinced that they have no chance of signing him. And Durant h as no interest in going to NYC to become a "hero" and join a team that might be good in a few years. Carmelo was going to be a hero, we all know how that worked out. If KD leaves the Thunder, he's gonna want to go to a team that can contend right away. Since he'll be a free agent at the end of the season, no team will trade for him unless they know he'll sign a new contract with them.

Only one of the three teams would benefit from that trade. So that's a bad trade idea.

I would advise OKC not to make this trade, and I can't see the Clippers wanting Melp

Clippers do not want Anthony. He is at the end of his career. It would never happen.
