Has anyone been to Cost Rica during their dry season?
I am going to Costa Rica in about 3 weeks with my school (college trip). We are going to be there for 9 to observe the Cost Rican schools. Three out of the nine days we are going to schools, the rest of the trip we are going to a volcano, a coffee farm, a few museums, and national parks. Does anyone have any reccomendations for what clothes to pack? I know were going during the dry season, meaning it will be 70 degrees. I know to bring sneakers for all of the walking, but Im not sure if I should wear leggings or like workout shorts because of all the mosquitos. Also, any suggestions with Costa Rica night life? Thank you everyone!

If you aren't pregnant and the only sex you are having is safe sex, Zika isn't an major thing. Bring bug repellant and apply it REGULARLY. If you have to set timers on your phone to remind you, do it.
If you are going up to the mountainous regions, the weather will be cooler, so have a jacket available.
I travel to places like this with zip off pants (not the coolest thing, but it works) and lots of quick dry shirts (Under Armour type). I bring long sleeves and short sleeves for those shirts. "Sneakers" are tricky because even if it's dry, you may still have showers, streams, mud, and dew. You don't want soaked socks.
Your name on here is Roxanne, so I will assume you are female. http://www.columbia.com/womens-freeze-degree-iii-s... and http://www.columbia.com/womens-layer-first-half-zi... are similar to the shirts I bring. http://www.columbia.com/womens-saturday-trail-ii-s... are similar to the pants. http://www.columbia.com/womens-ventrailia-outdry-t... are similar to the shoes I bring, depending on how much actual hiking I will be doing and if I need ankle support. If I need ankle support, I have something similar to http://www.columbia.com/mens-ventfreak-mid-outdry-... (this one is Men's, but I'm sure REI or North Face has something similar for women).
Leather shoes, especially trail shoes, can rot rather quickly. Another good reason I use synthetic.
Night life will depend on where you are. You can usually ask a local for help in finding a safe bar. Bring local cash, but not so much that you will be destroyed if it's lost or stolen. Even in some of the smaller towns, there will usually be at least one hangout.
Good Luck and have fun?
