A 0.1 M solution of an unknown organic acid has a pH of 2.1. What is the acid dissociation constant, ka, of the acid?

    Use an ICE table for the generic equilibrium

    HA <==> H+ + A-

    the ice table gives

    Ka = x^2/0.1-x)

    if pH is 2.1 then [H+] = x = 7.94e-3 M
