Does this make me a shitty girlfriend?
So after 2 years of working (and not getting a friggin penny) with my boyfriend of four years, I got fed up and got a job behind his back. My reason for doing so was because he would have made me feel bad about it and I was getting depressed working with him but his wouldn't have understood that.

No, you're not living for your boyfriend, if he doesn't understand then he's the shitty one. If he forces you to work with him or gets upset about your choice, then that's horrible and maybe you need a break from him. Talk to him about it, if you're scared, talk on the phone or text him. Being with a boyfriend should make you happy and comfortable, if he can't understand your choice to make you happier then that's not a great boyfriend move.So no, making yourself happier and not hurting really anyone by doing so is not being shitty, but you should talk to him about it.
