The old man was stupid too. Why couldn 't he hire someone to mow the lawn for him. That is what people do when they cannot maintain their own property. The complex is allowed to have the work done and charge the homeowner and if the HO does pay, then can lien the residence and foreclose on it.

Mowing the lawn and foreclosure are totally different things. Neither is worth a million dollars.

Doubtful they can foreclose. One million what? They can recover their costs they are owed plus legal costs of they can actually foreclose.
