Why do so many PC's 'crash' after installing Windows 10?

Update:

Today I have just heard of another friend whose computer crashed after he had installed Windows 10.

This is more than a dozen I have heard of in the past month alone. I first heard of this not long after the new system cam on line.

Shouldn't Microsoft be somehow held liable for all this?

Why the hell didn't they simply tweak Windows XP and keep everybody happy?

They may not have gotten all of the necessary updates to prepare for the Windows 10 upgrade.

When you upgrade, it gives you the option to get the latest updates before installing. Typically you want to do that.

I've upgraded dozens of computers at work to Windows 10 and it's only a small few that generally have issues.

I installed Windows 10 on 4 computers. I've had NO crashes. You should update ALL drivers, get ALL updates.

I've upgraded about 6-7 systems myself from 7 or 8.1 to 10, and I've had 0 issues with it crashing. As long as your hardware is reasonably up to date and it's not infected, the vast majority of upgrades go just fine.

I don't know. I've never seen one do so.

Unless you installed Windows 10 on a machine that's as old as Windows XP, you shouldn't have much of a problem with Windows 10.

Windows 10 is crap. That being said, there's no reason it should crash unless you installed it wrong
