If by the world you mean the solar system then there are 8 planets maybe 9 and thousands of dwarf planets. Or by the world you mean the universe then there are quintillions

In our world, there is only the Earth. We are number 1.
In our solar system, there are eight planets: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune. (Sorry Pluto, but you are out for now).
In our Milky Way galaxy, it is estimated that there are ten trillion planets.
In the universe, it is even hard to imagine since we do not even know how huge it is, but just from the parts of the universe that are observable to us, it has been estimated that there are 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 planets. (that is 10 to the power of 24 for those that do not like all those zeros.

For most people, "the world" means the planet Earth, so the answer would be "one." There are eight known planets in our own Solar System (including Earth), and more than two thousand planets known to revolve around nearby stars.

There is only one planet in the world. Our planet Earth is the world.
If you mean in our solar system, there are 8.
If you mean in our galaxy, that is unknown (scientists have found over 2000 so far in other solar systems).
