    dy/dx is a regular derivative

    The original equation has y and x only x is the only independant variable

    It calculates the chane in y for a change in x

    A partial derivative is for multi variable equations

    z = 2x + 3y

    Is a multi variate equation.

    If we calculate the partial derivative we have to assume the other variable doesnt change.

    Partial dz/partial dx = 2

    Im not sure what your third symbol was .
