Are Sunni Muslims and Shea Muslims sects within Islam?

If not, which one of the many dozens of blends of Islam are "sects"?

    Salam.Yes Sunni is a true Islamic sect while Shia is a misguided Islamic sect because its followers do not hold tightly the Qur'an and all sahih hadiths

    Yes they are. Shiites are the lesser of two evils, but not by much. All Islam is bad. Muhammad, their prophet, was a very, very bad man. All Muslims consider this criminal to be the ideal moral example. Thus, we have groups like ISIS.
