Express 81 = 3^x as a logarithmic equation?

    log₃(81) = log₃(3ˣ)

    log₃(81) = x

    x log 3 = log 81

    x = log 81 / log 3

    x = 4

    log(3) 81 = log(3)3^x

    log(3) 3^4 = log(3)3 ^x

    4log(3)3 = x log(3)3

    Hence

    x = 4 Since a logged value to its own base is '1' ( log(3)3 = 1 ).
