Do players like Kyrie Irving and James Harden simply not care about defense or lack the IQ to play it?

I've noticed alot of poor defenders are also iso-heavy players who don't understand the team concept of basketball. It seems they'd rather shine as individuals than collectively as a team.

Kyrie isn't that bad on defense, based on the values of today's game but James Harden is infuriating to watch because he's so lazy on defense and then gets a whistle on the other end every time he misses a shot in the paint. Just the culture of the basketball today where fans and most players hate defense.

They definitely care, Harden was a great defender last year, but not this year and I think Kyries defense isn't that bad, he's just coming off injuries.

In James Harden's case, he's the Rockets primary scorer and facilitator, so he often has to rest on defense. That's the reason they brought in Ty Lawson, he was supposed to became their primary facilitator so James could actually try on the defensive end.
