Invited to a Crowd Birth?
One of my friends is 31 weeks right now and she is doing a home crowd birth and has apparently already invited a bunch of people including myself.
Does anyone have experience with this, what are things to expect/bring along? Should I be a quiet spectator or an active participator. I don't really want to be talking over a bunch of people but I want to be supportive at the same time.

What the hell is a 'crowd birth?' Giving birth is not a form of entertainment or a spectator sport. I would recommend RSVPing your regrets and finding a better way of spending your day. (Especially since you can hardly commit to attending an event that might happen anytime within a 5-6 week time span, and might take a few hours, or several days.)

Wow I'd be so paranoid giving birth in front of a crowd lol I think you should just join in with the crowd

I can only speak for myself, but if I were to be invited I'd be thinking in terms of ear plugs, a comfy chair, and a bucket.

i would recommend asking your friend who is pregnant what she would like. she may want comfort during the labor but that could mean so many different things: hold her hand, cheer for her, stand quietly next to her for support, etc. Best thing is to ask. personally, i didn't mind the people who were in my room during my labor, but i didn't want anyone talking to me, i didnt even want anyone to hold my hand. everyone's different so its best to just ask up front than do something to **** the pregnant lady off.
