How can I fix the weather widget on my imac OS X 10.6.8 that keeps reverting to Cupertino CA ?
It worked fine until yesterday and I have tried everything- it won t recognize any other location. The i icon lets me put in a new location but then states no cities found. I even downloaded a new weather widget- still reverts to Cupertino. Any ideas?

Try this...
– In a Finder window, go to your home folder > Library > Preferences
– Trash the file called
widget-com.apple.widget.weather.plist
– Log out or restart.
EDIT :
Uh-oh... same issue on my two Macs. That indicates some glitch at weather.yahoo.com The web page shows correct location and can be changed, but somehow it may be failing to connect with the Apple widget. If I had my third Mac here, I could boot to Windows to see if the "Gadget" in Windows (a copy of the Mac widget) has the same issue. We may have to just wait a day or two for Yahoo to fix it.

Check what is set as your location in System Preferences.
