Can American citizens get divorced in China?

My wife and I moved to China with our son a little over a year ago. Neither one of us wish to move back to America because our son has ASD and is progressing very well with the help we have found for him here.

Anyways, my wife wants a divorce. I'm not going to get into the details about it, long story. Is it possible for us to file for divorce here in Beijing? Perhaps at the embassy? I have not been able to find any information about this online, so your help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    U can get a divorce anywhere u live. If u have permanent residenship. If u re on a tourist visa - no, u have to go back where u live permanently

    We have z (working visas) with a residency permit which isn't permanent.
