God is made up for unexplained things?

The belief in God started when?

It's a different answer depending on what you believe but people started praying to the God's when they had no explanation.

When the sun came up and went down millions of years ago people would pray to gods so it would come back up again and it did, we figured out later it would've come back up anyway. So science proved that without praying to God the sun would've still rose and now we science has improved we know that praying to God or the supernatural won't cure illness like people used to think and hope?

The things that have no explanation is filled in with God but like before when they eventually were figured out by science this is likely to happen so why do people still fill in gaps with God like they're not educated in the history of religion and how people used religion, God was used when there was no other explanation, there is now.

This is just one belief I respect everyone's belief and everyone's entitled to believe in whatever they want as long as it's peaceful and doesn't harm anyone else :)

    History 108 3/4

Mostly all people doubt the Holy Word of God, The Bible.

But This little History lesson will enlighten all.

It starts with the Hittites. And a lack of evidence they ever existed. Then in 1908 a Archaeological discovery was made by John Garstang. The 400 year civilization of the Hittites Empire (1600-1200 BC). Since then so much has been discovered about the Hittite Empire, you can study all you want about them.

And it’s not just The Hittite evidence. All kinds off engraved stones or cylinders from other ancient civilizations verify other Biblical accounts. The Taylor Prism confirms the Assyrian siege of Jerusalem that the Bible describes in 2 Kings 19-19, 2 Chronicles 32, and Isaiah 36-37.

The discovery of the Tel Dan Stele confirms the existence of Israel’s King David. The Cyrus Cylinder records Cyrus of Persia’s decree that allowed Babylonian captives to return to their homes and resume their religious practices. The Moabite Stone proves the events of 2 Kings 3. This stone not only chronicles the rebellion led by Mesha King of Moab but even mentions the name Yahweh.

Jewish and Roman historians referred to the life and works of Jesus. Josephus wrote about Jesus’ miracles. And Pliny the Younger, an ancient ruler, recorded that Christians in his province maintained their belief in and the worship of Jesus even when faced with death. We have evidence that the Gospels were written by apostles or at least in cooperation with them. Irenaeus, a disciple of Polycarp, who was a disciple of the apostle John, Writes: as far as someone inserting into the Bible what they felt like. The Dead Sea Scrolls put that idea to rest. The earliest copies of the New Testament date back to 114 AD.

    The Holy Bible 100% accurate.

Earth’s Mass is 6.6 Sextillion tons. What holds it up?

Nothing! It spins on its axis at 1000 miles per hour.

As it hurtles through space in it’s orbit around the Sun.

    Nothing = GOD!

For those of you who say, There is no God,Jesus, Sky Daddy, Satan, or Christians. Please go to Biblical Archeology And read some of what you find there. It proves that God is 100% Real. And so is His Holy Word The Bible.Just check out the below sites.

There is more joy in Jesus in one day.

Than there is in the World 365/24/7

I know, I tried them both.

    Numbers 6:24-26

BTW, Sir Isaac Newton, The father of modern physics, was a committed Christian who

Claimed the Universe’s orderliness came from its Creator.

No offense, but I find that interpretation quite idiotic. It comes from people who have no clue what spirituality is; who have never become aware of having experienced anything spiritual...

God is a mythological word which stands for the Source of the bond which incorporates Self with Higher Self. That is an experience of our Consciousness which transcends along its eternal life into higher levels of perception of reality, and is not a rational idea about something abstract, or some idiotic hypothesis on the existence of God...

Our ancestors did not use terms like: astral plane, dimension, vibration, ego, alpha brain waves, betta brain waves, lucid dreaming, etc. They used simpler mythological words for all that - archetypal symbols, trying to put these into a cosmology which depicts the... "Logos"...

Primitive man - what we contemplate today in derrogatory manner, was spiritually much more connected to Mother Earth than we are today.- something modern science is approaching with defining it as energy grids and energy meridians with parallel Hz and all that... Why you think they were building the pyramids, not 8000 years ago, but 30,000 years ago? Because they used them as amplifiers with which they traveled to dreamtime or maybe even "daytime" multiuniverses you cant even imagine...

The main reason I was particularly skeptical about Christianity was because my mother and grandmother used spirits as an explanation for every insignificant noise or happening.

The door opens slightly, it's jesus.

The floor creaks, it's my great grandfather.

The building groans, it's a demon.

I got a real nasty attitude when I said this one day.

"It's not jesus, the window is open!"

Yes. Your conclusion is sound. Do not be discouraged just because your logic is missed by others.

The only way a person can make a fool of you is by taking advantage of what you don't know. But, we make a fool of ourselves whenever we believe something is true without properly questioning it.

    Good luck!

Only the deniers of God say that.

    Commonly known as urban myths.

    How utterly stupid!

You don't see the foolishness of making up a story and using it to deny God?

That s funny. I agree with your call to fill in the gaps with God. I m seeing whole segments of the culture changing by those doing exactly that. The Bible which we do read a lot tells us to "Fear God and obey the commandments." The first of which is essential and sufficient, "Thou shalt love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your might."

I sought Him when I fell in love and stayed patient. He heard me, had pity on me and repaid me mercy for my sins, then Righteous God saved me by grace.

There is only speculation. But we know the ancient Greeks connected God to morality and to purpose of life, just as we do today.

    Yes.

Our faith is based up on 'what we hope for and certain of what we do not see'.
