Need help setting up this document using adobe indesign my teacher wants us to make a catalog?
The document must be 4 (11 x 17) pages on landscape format. print each page on both sides. In actuality, the finished printed document is two 11 x 17 pages stapled together by the centerfold. If possible can you show me a picture or walk me through the steps on how to do this?

It is simple: create a 4 page document with a page size of 11x17 landscape. When creating the document uncheck "Facing pages".
You'll want to plan ahead with your layouts. Since you are folding the pages and printing on both sides you will essentially be creating an eight page book (or catalog). Side one of page one will be the front and back cover, side two of page one will be the inside front cover and the inside back cover. Page two will be the four interior pages.
If this doesn't make sense take two pieces of paper (doesn't matter what size) and fold them in half to make a book. Then number all your pages, you will see you end up with 8 individual pages. When designing find the middle of each 11x17 page and that will give you your left and right sides (which are the different pages).
