Adding landlines to Skype?

Update:

I knew Skype was doomed as soon as Microsoft bought Skype. It used to be so easy to Add a New Contact and their landline phone number.

Now it seems, you need a Facebook or Microsoft Email Account to search for, and Add a new Contact, and my new Contact(s) have neither.

I've read the Help files, and done Google searches, and I'm lost.

What am I doing wrong?
