    No.

Freemasonry is a fraternal organization that exists in different forms all over the world but which share moral and metaphysical ideals, some of which conflict with Christian and Catholic beliefs. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freemasonry

Freemasonry promotes indifferentism, the heretical (to Christians) belief that all religions are equally legitimate attempts to explain the truth about God but that this truth will never be explained. This is incompatible with Christian faith because Christians believe that God has definitively revealed Himself in the person of Jesus Christ, and desires that all men come to the knowledge of this truth.

Freemasonry's teachings and practices also result in syncretism which is the blending of different religious beliefs into a unified whole. This shown in Masonry's religious rituals, which gather men of all faiths around a common altar, and place all religious writings along side the Bible on the Masonic altar.

The Lodge's practice of requiring its members to swear immoral oaths is also incompatible with Christianity. These oaths require a Christian to swear on the Holy Bible that he will uphold a code of moral conduct that prefers Masons to non-Masons, and to preserve secret passwords and handshakes. Such oaths are immoral because they are trivial and not necessary. These oaths are sworn under penalties of physical torture and death (e.g., having my throat cut across, and my tongue torn out by its roots). These penalties show a lack of respect for God.

The are NOT all the same! Not even close. E.g., the Illuminati was a political discussion group that no longer exists. Lions, and Rotarians are somewhat similar, and Masons replicated the stone mason builders. Most of these people are significant in their communities, some, like Masons, need to be invited to join.

Would I join? I am already of member of several community groups - I'm not sure I would have time for any more!

    I am a Freemason.

Freemasonry has nothing to do with the other groups.

(I should point out the illuminati has not existed for over 225 years, except in the minds of conspiracy nuts)

However Freemasonry,Lions,Rotary etc are all good organisations, they are harmless and in fact all raise vast sums of money for charity every year.

Contrary to the ideas some idiots have,Freemasonry is not religious and non political. As long as a man believes in a supreme being,he can apply to join.

There is absolutely nothing in Freemasonry that puts any man,in conflict with his chosen belief, which is why you will find Christian,Jewish and Muslim etc Freemasons.

There is absolutely no evidence that Freemasonry has ever been involved in anything immoral or illegal

I think if you spend a few minute with the Masons you're going to be in for a lot of disappointment. They're very OLD and there's not much illumination involved in what they do.

I would. I would try to work as a double agent for humanity, infiltrating these groups and then destroying them from within!

I hear they have free food at their meetings.
