It sounds to me like he's not concerned about it, so take him on his word.

It means that he doesnt want to be responsible for the way you choose to view yourself. If it was his body he would be treating it differently than what youre doing to it, buts its not his body so he doesnt have a right to tell you how to treat it.

Not really means that it does a little bit. Physical attraction is important to everyone.
