How to create a drop shadow all around a shape in Adobe Photoshop?

I'm using Adobe Photoshop CC.

I like the "drop shadow" effect but it only applies it to one side of the shape...

How do I apply the effect around the entire shape? Or choose to apply it around certain sides of the shape? Not just one.

You can still use the Drop Shadow style to completely surround a shape. Just set 'Distance' to zero, and change 'Size' and 'Spread' as needed.

To an extent, you can surround certain sides by carefully choosing settings and angle, but you won't be able to do opposite sides or have breaks in between. You might be able to use the Outer Glow style to make a second shadow (like geek546 suggests), or you may have to resort to using another layer.

I think that you can use the Outer Glow. Set the color to dark grey and the blend mode to Multiply, the size to 10-12 and the spread to 6-8. Select the box Anti-aliased and click OK.
