Hand/hold luggage?
I am travelling to France in june, and whilst booking my flights I read a statement saying "The rate you selected does not include hold luggage".
This is my first time flying, and don't know how it all works, I am presuming they are trying to charge me for luggage held in the back of the plane?
If so, then what about if my bag is small enough to sit above my seat?
Is there requirements, that all passengers are entitled to hand luggage if it doesn't surpass a certain weight?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

The hand (cabin) luggage allowance depends on the airline you fly with.
Some have maximum size limitations of 55 x 40 x 20 cm or 21.6 x 15.7 x 7.8 inches and weight limitations starting with 5 kg or 11 lbs. Others allow hand luggage as long as it fits in the overhead bin and you are able to lift it up there, and you may also take an additional small personal item like a handbag, briefcase or lap-top bag.

They are talking about what is usually called checked luggage. If you bring luggage that cannot go as carry-on luggage but must be checked and go into the cargo space of the plane, they will charge a fee for it. The airline's website will tell you the size and weight and number of pieces of luggage you can bring into the plane's cabin with you.
