    Logically, it is someone who was born and/or raised in in the north or south American continents. Socially, it is usually someone who was born in and/or supports the United States of America. Socially it can be refined even further to someone who only supports certain things in a social group.

    Apparently not someone born in America if you just don't look the part.

    I'm Korean, born in America, in an army base... but not considered American by Americans.

    I'm "THAT Chinese guy" to Americans, so...
