Tax question - This information is for a company acting as an agent for my actual employer, Holding company?

My company was recently bought out by another company, their holding company sent my W2, (It s not the actual company that bought us out) doing my taxes (Both companies sent W2 s, one from my old company [company A] and one from the holding company) should I check that box on my taxes for that W2?

Also that box is for my employment agency s W2 correct?

Verify the numbers on the W-2s with your pay stubs. It's not unusual for there to be confusion when a business is bought but most of the time they do get it correct. The reconciliation between your pay stubs and the W-2s should be close if not exact. If there is a significant disagreement between the two, bring it to the attention of your Payroll Department.

The IRS gets copies of all W-2s, so you must include all of them on your return. If there's an error, your employer must correct it before you can file a valid return.
