Can I take this to court?

I don t want to explain because I am shaking so hard and it s hard to type, but our substitute just exploded onto us for something so dumb and he was shouting and so loud I got sent to the office and I explained what had happened but when we went back down there to talk to the sub he acted the victim. He ended up making two students cry (me included) and he was just so VIOLENT and loud, explosive I think he shouldn t be allowed to teach again. I am not some whiny exaggerating teenager, this is very serious as I feel violated and so upset. The teachers, of course, are taking the substitutes word over mine (and I don t blame them) so I don t think they are going to do anything, but I think that that sub shouldn t be able to teach. Can I take this to court?

Not without proof. Many of you have cell phones and ipads, why did no one take video of this? Next time be brave and turn on the camera on the ipad or phone or laptop camera and get video proof to show the people in charge you are not making it up. Second, you need to have more than 2 other people verify your story. They need to be just as brave and come forward and support your story. The witness of one can be denied, the witness of many cannot be denied. Encourage the others to step forward and speak up. A bad substitute is no good for your education.

Can you take what to court? What are your damages? It sounds like this substitute lost their temper. That was wrong but it happens. Your parents can make a complaint to the school but there is nothing what so ever that can be brought up in a court.

Was there a reason for the substitute ('teacher', I am guessing from your question) to be so forceful? Were you behaving properly, paying attention, showing respect and doing your work. If so, the outburst seems inexplicable and possible unjustifiable. If you weren't, then I would support the substitute teacher. If you remember this incident the next time you think of doing something 'dumb', then you have learnt a lesson and the substitute teacher has done a good job. That's what he gets paid for and that's why you are there.
