How Per-Ingvar Brånemark end up making dental implants before orthopedics screws?

My research just leads to I. P. Branemark having the 1st titanium implant placed in a patient in 65. I can t find anything to why he went into the dental field with his discovery before orthopedics.

    well, braniak had good intentions no doubt, but there's an epidemic of "auto-immune" (actually, primarily thyroid) related problems and it's growing all the time due to implant metallosis. people are seeing clueless endocrinologists trying to find out what's wrong with them and treat their chronic fatigue and joint and muscle pains caused by implants.
