Why is my clothes dryer taking so long to dry a load of laundry but if the dryer sits unused all day it is hot to the touch?

    The vent is clogged with lint, so no air is moving through. You might have to go in through the back or clean the vent pipe.

    That doesn't sound very good, it should not be hot if it isn't being used. I would have that thing unplugged or it may catch fire unless the heat is coming from something else.
